We are very proud to be the first artists on this label. i-rain records will also see the release of 2 CD's by Anka, and Pieter Nooten, with whom I worked so hard on my own album. At long last, I can say for 100 % sure now: my debut album is done!! I must say I'm really really relieved to announce this to you! The album sounds mature, sophisticated, and exciting. Again, we travelled into new directions on some of the songs as to the sound and the songwriting.

Dear people,

You all have probably noticed a silence in the public space but the wind is howling behind the scenes!

I’m working very hard now to finish the songs and the music for my album together with Anka and Pieter. We’re sweating, laughing, hating, loving and crying to get it all done, Unfortunately this means there is little time and space left for live gigs or much entertainment these days.

To kill the time I would like to recommend everybody to listen to the new CD of Kate Bush, “Aerial”. This is a timeless, devotional masterpiece, totally independent from any trend, any style, any ego. Next week, on Wednesday 25th of May you'll get a chance to see me perform at the Wilhelmina Pakhuis (Veemkade 576, Amsterdam) together with Anka for the first time. This is meant as a try-out gig for shows we're preparing to do in London in the beginning of June... Come check us out!

With our fresh demo in our bags, we (Anka and me) flew over to London last week for the third time. I was invited by 'The Spitz' to do a live recording session in front of a large audience. It all turned out very well, lots of people were there, and they were all silent while playing, giving me a big hand... Which is not what you always get when playing solo! One of the live recorded tracks will appear on a CD compilation, together with 9 other English acts. This CD will be released in about two months. The first Official Demo (we nearly OD'ed on it) finally got finished! With the addition of a very strong new song 'Air' (which was written in Berlin), and extra care taken to mixing all of the tracks, the overall picture is now full circle. This is the sound we were searching for/ dreaming of/ how it's meant to be!

We did a photo shoot for the cover with photographer Johannes Abeling (www.abeling.nl), finding the most dodgy and quirkiest places in Amsterdam. Being almost chased by shady criminals and pimps in the red light district, we did complete our mission:



Although this CD could easily be released as an EP, we keep it saved as promotional material only for now, so this one is not for sale! But do have a listen to the new track 'AIR', under MUSIC.

Dear folks, Liebe Leute!

Back from my London & Berlin trip, still dreaming on and looking back completely satisfied on my experiences in both places! Berlin turned out to be a bit more quiet, and a place to get creative, so i got to write some new music, strolled through the city, looking at all those beautiful young people who do it their own berlin way. What a refreshing difference to Amsterdam when it comes to excitement, food, music, art! The city proved inspiring enough to write some great new songs, some of which will definitely will be included on my new album.

London was a complete rush. and then a good one! I performed at two venues. The first gig was at the 'Spitz' in Shoreditch, a very trendy area in Central London at the moment. Immediately after, I had to run to make it to the next venue called 'Cargo', also in Shoreditch, where I was introduced by vocalist and songwriter Z-star. Cargo proved to be sold out, and was packed with about 500 people, a beautiful opportunity to perform in London. Moreover, everybody seemed to really like it, and I got some very nice reactions afterwards. The night was co-supported by Keziah Jones, guitar funk master, an honour to meet him.

Me and Anka also did some "shopping" around in London, meaning meeting up with some record company people, with our fresh new demo... I'm not going to say much about it all yet, that would be a little premature. But off course I will keep you updated!

The first official demo of my new material is getting finished while we speak...! All the recordings are done, and some last vocals were done last week at SAE with the help of my friends and studio-engineering duo Jesse Beuker and Styrmir Hauksson. We're now in the process of mixing and mastering the lot. Listen to some 'working mixes' under MUSIC. The next step will be to take it through the world of record companies, labels, and publishers, with a focus on the UK.

From October 10th, I will be spending a few weeks in Berlin to record some new songs and to play a few gigs. Dates and places of performances will be coming up soon (for all your friends living in Berlin), check the PLAYLIST.

After Berlin, it’s time to go to London! On November 11th, I have a gig planned at the 'Spitz', a quite popular venue in Shoreditch, London's happening musician's hangout at this moment. Anka and I will be staying there for a bit, to taste the vibes and check the music industry while we're there.

My second demo, which I recorded last year, is now for sale at the online music label Toonbankrecords. For people who have missed it, it contains 8 of my songs, recorded on a old analogue tape recorder. The sound is very rootsy, blues and country-like, using old instruments as lap steel, Hammond organ and Wurlitzer piano. Very different from what I’m doing now, therefore unique material!
